The Majority has hit back at the minority counterpart over claims some government agencies are entering into multi-year contracts without approval.

The NDC MPs recently flagged a number of contracts including the GRA-SML deal and most recently the 5G deal with Infraco as having been entered into without Parliamentary approval.

But addressing the media in Parliament majority leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin argued Article 181 of the Constitution which deals solely with international contracts.

According to the Effutu MP, the article does not cover multi-year local contracts contrary to the claims of the NDC MPs.

Afenyo-Markin however revealed Parliament will meet the communications minister Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekufful over the 5G Infraco deal to better understand the terms of the deal.
