The Group General Manager of Alisa Hotels, Yusuf Olela highlighted that the Alisa Hotels group has over the years built for itself a reputable brand within the hospitality circles of Ghana and continues to position itself as the business address both at its North Ridge and Tema branches.

He underscored the need for continuous investment in hospitality to bolster the industry and gain investor interest. Further highlighting on the tourism interventions in the country, he applauded the gains made by the year of return and beyond the return campaigns.

He said since the execution of the two campaigns, the hospitality industry has witnessed significant growth due to the arrivals of tourists into the country, hence the need to provide special consolidated funds that allows people to invest in the sector at a lower rate, and infrastructure development to make the destinations more attractive.

Mr Olela, who was speaking at the launch of a 1,000-seater pavilion at the North Ridge branch of the Alisa Hotel in Accra said despite the strides made in the sector, industry players still experienced high utility cost, power fluctuations, and inflation, a situation which negatively impacts the hotel industry.

“Moving forward, I think what needs to be done is more investment into tourism and destination marketing plus increased incentives to encourage more investors in the industry,” the General Manager said.
