The NDC in the Ho Central constituency is demanding explanation from the Electoral Commission over several discrepancies they have allegedly identified in the provisional voters’ register.
At a press briefing held on Thursday, the party’s constituency director of elections, Dr Collins Nunyoname told the media that the EC undertook the transfers of some 5,659 persons on the constituency register on the blind side of the party rather than the 1,567 captured during the voter transfer window.
“According to the confirmed voter transfer summary report we received from the Electoral Commission of Ghana, a total of 1,567 voters transferred their votes into various polling stations in the Ho Central constituency as of June 16, 2024.”
“However, the transfer list given by the Electoral Commission for the Ho Central constituency during the exhibition indicates that a total of 5,659 voters transferred their votes into the Constituency, resulting in a staggering difference of 4,092 voters. This stark difference raises concerns about the credibility of the register for the Ho Central Constituency.”
The party also alleges that rather than 102 persons placed on the exception list during the limited registration exercise, the Electoral Commission during the just-ended exhibition exercise, captured 291 persons in their records.
These discrepancies according to the party form part of a grand agenda to manipulate the results of the 2024 elections.
“We believe that these anomalies if left unresolved can undermine the credibility of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections in the Ho Central constituency.”
