One of the founding fathers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and well-known figure in Ghanaian sports, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, has voiced out his disagreement about the investigative techniques used by renowned journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, specifically with regard to the demise of former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi.
“I don’t believe Anas. I have no issue with him. I don’t even know him. I said it carefully, the way he goes about this, and I know that he’s not an honest man”, he stated on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on August 29, 2024.
Dr. Tamakloe doubts the objectivity of Anas’ investigation, claiming that Anas had not acted in a “genuine way” and that Mr. Nyantakyi had not been treated fairly or transparently by him.
“I don’t know that’s announced, but I just, I don’t agree with him.I don’t think he’s doing it in a very genuine way.He says he’s an investigating journalist. He’s out there to unravel the truth. I have read about investigating journalists. And this is not the way they operate. He sort of tricks and tracks people.”
Dr. Tamakloe says that Anas did not was not fair to Mr. Nyantakyi.
“He wasn’t fair to Kwasi Nyantakyi. I’m telling you.I’m being frank with you. He wasn’t fair to Kwasi Nyantakyi. There have been a lot of instances that you can see that he wasn’t fair. Many have said that really that caused the downfall of the once-loved Kwasi Nyantakyi.”
He also called out Anas for presenting the information to influential politicians before making it public, citing President Akufo-Addo and former President John Mahama as examples.
“In his case, when he collects whatever he has, he shows it to certain people. He showed it to President Akufo-Addo.He showed it to John Mahama. He shouldn’t at all. Those people shouldn’t have seen it. Akufo-Addo shouldn’t have seen it. John Mahama shouldn’t have seen it.”
Dr. Tamakloe has urged Mr. Nyantakyi to fight back.”And I think lately, if I have heard things rightly, Kwasi Nyantakyi has been given the opportunity to either appeal or fight back. And I would definitely encourage him to fight back”, he stated
