Paul Anyaba, business development manager for Samatex, has indicated that the team’s primary focus is securing qualification over the Cameroonian side Victoria United.

FC Samartex 1996 secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Victoria United in the first leg of the CAF Champions League qualifier at Japoma Stadium in Douala.

The clash, scheduled for Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, would see both sides battle for a place in the next round of the competition.

Speaking on THE GAME on GhOne TV, Paul Anyaba revealed that the technical team and the playing body are working diligently and confidently towards a win.

“We’re leaving no stone unturned, we are getting swollen-headed because we went there to win, we are mindful of what happened to Kotoko two seasons ago, they won in Burkina Faso and then lost in Kumasi to Kadiogo so we are guided by all these”.

“We are talking to the boys, we are psyching them and making them understand that we cannot afford to be complacent so we are doing that but that is the outcome, we have even limited them as far as their interaction with the media and the public is concerned so that they can have their attention on the game, he said.

“But since we touched down on Monday, they have been in our base in the Eastern region to continue the preparation, today they have moved back to Accra they will be training today and tomorrow ahead of Sunday’s game but then everything for me from what I have observed from the work that the technical video analyst and the playing body have put in from Tuesday afternoon, I am very much confident that coming Sunday they will finish off what they started today”, he told GHOne TV.

The Cameroonians are eager to bounce back from the home defeat and aim for a stronger performance in Ghana.

Samartex, on the other hand, is determined to build on their away victory and progress to the next stage of the qualifying series.
