The member of Parliament for Akim Oda who doubles as the deputy Health Minister, Alexander Akwasi Acquah has set a target of securing 90 percent of the votes for the governing NPP in the upcoming December 7 General election.
Addressing party supporters in Oda when he filed a contest for the second time, Mr Acquah expressed strong confidence in achieving his target, given the unity and support from the party’s flag Bearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Electoral commission is expected to close Nomination on Friday July 13.
Despite the economic woes, the Oda constituency has seen massive developments under the tenure of Akwasi Acquah.
“I won the 2020 election with 75% votes. I have delivered. Give me 90 percent and Oda will be transformed”, he said.
According to the MP, described by many as smart, hardworking, and an excellent public servant, he is convinced that the voter turnout in the constituency this year will hit 90% and that the NPP will win at least 85% of the valid votes because of the performance of the government.
He emphasized that the NPP government has rolled out a lot of programs like the Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, health insurance scheme, school feeding, and many others.
Mr Alexander Akwasi Acquah was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive for Birim Central Joyce Adjoa Agyeiwaa and other constituency executives to file his nomination.
