The Member of Parliament and Parliamentary candidate for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak has supported two women groups in his constituency.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Communication officer, Akogtu Daniel stated that the move is geared at empowering women adding that it is the surest bet if “we are to achieve positive social change.”
“Consequently, Dr. Apaak has always supported women groups in his constituency with cash and in-kind as part of his contribution towards positive change. It is in light of this that the Hon. MP donated 10,000 cedis to help cover the cost of connecting electricity to a rice mill and the roofing of another. The two mills belong to two women groups in the Fumbisi Zongo and Logmiisa communities respectively.
“The women were thrilled by the kind gesture of Dr. Clement Apaak and assured him of their support in the upcoming elections”, Mr. Akogtu stated.
Presenting the cash on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Chairman Caesar Akinkang who admonished the women to use the money for the intended purposes and assured them of the MP’s readiness to support them anytime the need arises.
He emphasized that the less privileged, women and youth empowerment are the very principles Dr. Clement Apaak always stands for.
Gracing the program were Hon. Henry Ayeng and Hon. Christopher Akanbey, assembly members of the respective electoral areas.
