The Minister for Interior, Henry Quartey has announced the renewal of curfew hours for Saboba Township and its surrounding areas in the Northern Region, effective September 4, 2024. The curfew will be in place from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.

In a statement by the minister, the government appealed to local leaders, including chiefs, elders, and opinion leaders, as well as the youth and residents of the area to remain calm and composed in the face of current challenges.

The government urged them to adopt peaceful means to address their concerns and work towards maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Furthermore, a total restriction has been imposed on the carrying of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons in the specified communities and their environs.

This means any person found in possession of such items will face immediate arrest and prosecution.

The Minister for the Interior, has by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours for Saboba Township and its environs in the Northern Region from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am effective, Wednesday, September 4, 2024

Government continues to urge Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the afore-mentioned communities and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
