Ghanaian politician and former chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Madam Samia Nkrumah revealed that she was approached by Nana Kwame Bediako also known as Cheddar, to be his running mate.
However, she declined the offer.
She made this revelation in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, where she explained her decision, saying, “I’ve invested too much in Jomoro. I believe the Nkrumahist tradition must be represented in Parliament, in our decision-making body, because as it is today, it is not with that clarity and conviction.”
When asked if she believed in Nana Kwame Bediako’s ideology, Samia Nkrumah responded, “I believe many Ghanaians have what it takes inside and outside politics. But politics, anyway, it’s a different thing, because vying for political power, I think you have to do it with a strategic aim.”
Madam Nkrumah stressed the importance of having the right mindset and knowing what needs to be done to make a positive impact in politics. She stated, “I think most of us do know what our priorities are. So I believe many Ghanaians have that the right mindset and know what needs to be done.”
Madam Samia Nkrumah reiterated her commitment to the Nkrumahist tradition and its representation in Parliament. She said, “I want to see that happen. I’ve invested so much in that.”
