Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, leader of The New Force, has disclosed a plan towards transforming Ghana’s economy.

Cheddar launched his manifesto, dubbed “12 Pillars For Economic Freedom”, and highlighted the need for self-sufficiency, saying “Why do we have to go to England, go to Switzerland, or go to DeLaRue to print our money?” He questioned the logic of depending on foreign countries to print Ghana’s currency, emphasizing the potential for industrialization and economic growth.

“We are going to print money at home,” Cheddar declared, stating his vision for a more independent and self-sufficient economy. He also focused attention on the need to reduce reliance on foreign goods, citing “We don’t need to go anywhere else to go and buy food and bring it here.”

Cheddar criticized the current system, where Ghana imports packaged goods at premium prices, saying “We don’t need to pay seven times the taxes of whatever that is already in our country and someone has just packaged it.” He stressed the potential for local production and job creation.

“That stops,” Cheddar said, referring to the practice of relying on foreign goods and services. “Because we are going to create it here. Now that we have more reserves and even cash reserves.” He expressed credence in Ghana’s ability to drive its own economic growth and development.
