Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

Flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taken on his counterpart in the NDC John Mahama for using what he describes as insulting language against the clergy and religious leaders.

The former President who was addressing a meeting with various stakeholders as part of his campaign in Accra accused them of hypocrisy for allegedly not speaking up against the government.

But reacting to him at Nsakina in the AMASAMAN constituency, the NPP Flagbearer said, “my opponent has realised that, with the way the campaign is heading he will lose miserably hence he gets angry at the least provocation.

I heard he has insulted the clergy, chiefs, imams and CSOs. He says they are hypocrites. Is that the type of language we should use?.

He recently insulted the Electoral Commission and added that the NPP is a foolish government”.

The NPP stressed that, even if the government is a foolish one, it has outperformed the one former president Mahama superintended over.

He admonished politicians to be measured in the language they use on platforms.

The NPP flagbearer is touring the AMASAMAN, Ayawaso North and East Constituencies as part of his campaign ahead of the 2024 elections.
