Organised Labour says they are expected to embark on an industrial action effective October 10, 2024.
This follows the expiration of the 30-day ultimatum issued to the government to declare a state of emergency on illegal mining also known as Galamsey fight. But with the silence from the government in that regard.
Organized Labour believes the only way the government will address their concerns will be to speak in a language they understand.
Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, Joshua Ansah in a brief statement indicated that “Following the expiration of our deadline, and the failure of the government to meet our demands on illegal mining, Organized Labour has decided to declare a nationwide strike with effect from October 10, 2024.”
