The Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) has informed the public it is going to carry out maintenance work on the Atomic Bridge in Accra, warning of traffic jams when the exercise starts.
The Authority, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Roads and Highway explained the purpose of the program was to “ensure road safety and infrastructural integrity”.
“As a result,” the public announcement observed, “there will be traffic interruptions.”
“Motorists are advised to adhere to the traffic management systems to be put in place by the team of engineers from our Bridge Maintenance Unit of the Ghana Highway Authority,” the authority added.
The Highway Authority also encouraged motorists to use alternative routes to avoid the traffic altogether.
Scheduled maintenance work is expected to begin on Thursday, October 3, 2024 and end on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. During the period, the engineers will start work at 8pm and wrap up the following day at 6am.
