The Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has charged the people of Mankessim to vote out the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government and send a clear message to all politicians that the electorates cannot be taken for granted.

He said the upcoming election will determine the destiny of the country which is currently headed in the wrong direction.

Dr. Ato Forson was speaking at a forum of teachers, traders, artisans and Christian and Muslim leaders at Mankessim in the Mfantseman constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Central region.

Blaming the ruling NPP government for destroying Ghana and running the country’s economy aground thereby inflicting hardship on Ghanaians, he warned that Ghanaians should not reward the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its abysmal performance.

Dr. Ato Forson accused the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government of engaging in reckless and excessive borrowing, taking Ghana’s debt stock from GHS120 billion in 2016 to a staggering GHS761 billion, in just under eight years, with very little or nothing to show for the loans.

The Minority Leader also accused the government for taking peoples’ hard-earned investments through its debt exchange programme, describing it as “an act of wickedness that must be punished by the electorate”.

He urged the gathering to support President Mahama’s vision for the country, assuring that the NDC will implement transformational policies to support micro and small businesses and artisans.

Dr Ato Forson also reiterated President Mahama’s pledge to establish a modern market for Mankessim, similar to the ultra-modern Kotokuraba market built by the NDC in Cape Coast.
