A new District office for the Ghana Audit Service has been officially inaugurated in Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region.
The state-of-the-art facility, which is part of the Service’s expansion plans, aims to enhance its operational capacity and improve service delivery to the public.
The state-of-the-art office complex, which will serve as a key operational hub for audit service in the region, is expected to streamline auditing processes, improve service delivery, and further strengthen the oversight of public funds.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by key government officials, members of the Ghana Audit Service, and key stakeholders.
The new facility, built to house a dedicated team of auditors, will play a pivotal role in promoting transparency and ensuring that government expenditures align with legal and regulatory standards.
It will also enable the Audit Service to respond more efficiently to the growing demand for auditing services across the region.
Speaking to the media after the inauguration, the Auditor-General of Ghana, Mr Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu emphasized the importance of the new office in ensuring accountability within the public sector.
He noted that the establishment of such offices was in line with the Ghana Audit Service’s commitment to improving the quality of audits and reinforcing its role in protecting the public purse.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Nii Kwartei Titus Glover who represented the Vice President said the inauguration of the Dodowa office follows a series of efforts by the Ghana Audit Service to decentralize its operations and extend its reach to more regions in order to better monitor and assess the use of public resources across the nation.
So far, 3 regional offices has been inaugurated while 15 more District offices are yet to be inaugurated.
According to the Audit Service, the inauguration of the Dodowa office is part of their efforts to modernize their operations and strengthen its capacity to hold government agencies accountable while assuring of improved service delivery across the country.
