New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has pledged to create an airport city in Manhyia North, following the example set by Accra, should he win the presidency.
On Wednesday, as he concluded the third day of his tour in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia addressed an eager crowd of supporters, reaffirming his commitment to regional development. Citing his work on the Kumasi and Tamale airport projects, he shared his plan to elevate Manhyia North.
“We want to establish an Airport City here in Manhyia North so that you will gain some benefits,” he said, emphasizing the positive impact this could have on the area.
He added, “I led the negotiations concerning this airport with the UK government… So just as we have an Airport City in Accra, we want to have one here in Kumasi.”
Calling on voters to back his bid, Dr. Bawumia underscored his commitment to accountability, stating, “If you vote for me, by the grace of God, I can be president for eight years, and I will come back here and give accounts of my work.”In his final remarks, he urged, “Promote me and let me be the president. Give me the steer and let me drive.”
