Ordinarily, an article coming from Iddi Muhayu-Deen should not solicit any response since he barely knows anything about the Npp as well as the personality of Hon.Alan Kyerematen. This response to his article has only become necessary for purposes of educating young ones and adults in the Npp who have been poisoned by elderly men and women few though in the party who uses their age to deceive you into thinking that they are truthful.
I was sitting my somewhere only to be directed to an article titled “Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen-An Embodiment of Betrayal,Self Centeredness and Aggrandizement in Ghanaian Politics coming from someone who calls himself Lawyer Iddi Muhayu -Deen.
As soon as the content of the article was read,it became evident that I will need more chemicals to rid this young man of the cancerous poison introduced into his brain and not him alone but a lot of young ones. I will address the issues raised in the article in the way and manner they were raised that is to say point by point.
1.To begin with the the writer uses a supposed story told him by her mother in Kete Krachi to describe Alan as a betrayer. That no matter how much a snake shed its skin, it is still a snake and that people usually hide their true self from what they really are.If indeed Iddi was told this story by his mother, then the mother was a prophet because the story perfectly describes a lier who must never be trusted and am sure on this score,he will agree with me that in this country, the only certified lier is his candidate Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia. It is only his candidate that has made nonsense of the very essence of one being truthful which has attracted the attention of google to reward him with a plaque. The writer may contact Google for the citation given to his candidate.
Alan remains the only politician in this country who has never been described as corrupt nor dishonest and I dare anyone who thinks otherwise to challenge this position.
THE MOST PAMPERED POLITICIAN.
2.It is very interesting how propaganda easily sways the minds of young ones who at least with the benefit of the internet at their disposal should be able to research and know the truth but strangely allows themselves to be poisoned. That Iddi Muhayu-Deen who would be referred for the pusposes of this article interchangeably as the writer really believes Alan is the most pampered and luckiest politician in this country.I am sure he lacks the understanding of what pampered and luckiest means. His reason is that Alan has had the benefit of being a minister under both Nana Addo and Kufuor.Well I never knew being a minister to serve was a huge portfolio that one needed to celebrate it but be that it may be,the writer ought to have known that the Npp that formed the government of former President Kufuor and Nana Addo was established in 1992.At the time of its establishment, only few brave men and women were able to show their faces since the regime then was not a friendly one.Alan that the writer wants the world to accept as the luckiest and the most pampered was right from the beginning a member of the party and not just a member of the party but a founding member. The writer ought to have also known that when the party was formed in 1992,most of the people that came to form it had just returned from exile and so had no money. It took the luckiest and the most pampered politician in the mind of the writer to put his resources at the disposal of the party together with some other young professionals as the chairman of the Young Executive Forum (YEF).In 1992 the writer was not in the known and so can pardon him but it is important to emphasize the point that his candidate Alhaji Bawumia in 1992 was 29years old and so was an adult but never saw the need to join the Npp let alone to put his resources at the disposal of the party. There are reliable sources from within the family of the Npp flagbearer that he was a staunch member of the Ndc in those days.Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia the writer’s candidate only joined the Npp in 2008 at the age of 45years and even with that had to be persuaded with a running mate position of the party. So between Alan who was there from the beginning, expended his resources and also helped campaign for the party to be formidable till 2008 that Alhaji joined the party, who is the luckiest and the most pampered?
You addressed yourself as a lawyer of one year standing and I believe if your answer to the scenario I have painted points to Alan as the luckiest and the most pampered politician, then I would wonder the sort of people that comes to you for legal consultation.Let the record also reflect that Alan was made a minister not because he was even a founding member of the Npp but because of his competence levels. On the continent of Africa,no one compares to him when it comes to trade matters so on what basis would any sound mind as a leader would have over-looked him in terms of appointment?.
3.Your third issue is to the extent that Former President Kufuor is the one man that has always stood by Alan Kyerematen and goes ahead to make the point that even when everybody in the Npp virtually rejected Alan,it was he President Kufuor that stood by him.The very conclusions you draw here is the reason your article needed a response to educate you and others who may also be in your position as a result of concocted history told by some old men in the party whose bitterness for Alan is legendary. In fact if there is anybody or politician who has ever suffered because of his association or being associated with former President Kufuor, then is none other than Alan.I believe you now know the Young Executive Forum (YEF) as discussed in the previous paragraph as the body in the Npp in its early years that was responsible for bankrolling the party. The YEF never wanted former President Kufuor to lead the Npp but rather Dr.Safo Adu.The young men that were the backbone of the party enbloc believed former President Kufuor would not help the course of the party and so when the presidential bid of Dr.Safo Adu failed, they chose Alan to contest the 1996 primaries to lead the party as the flagbearer.President Kufuor then processed the danger to his political career and so had to through Mr.Appiah Menka then plead with Alan to rescind the decision to contest.Alan would have won especially with the backing of the YEF but had to shelve his ambition for former President Kufuor to go.The decision by Alan not to contest former President Kufuor was viewed by the YEF as a betrayal of their trust and since then the YEF members who saw Alan as the person to lead the party then have never forgiven him.You may quickly grab a phone and call Peter Mac Manu for more insight.
Again in 1998 after the Presidential Primaries of the Npp in Sunyani that saw former President Kufuor beat Nana Addo, just go and find out the G8 group that was formed by Nana Addo and J.H. Mensah what they wanted happen to Kufuor. The G8 then wanted a coup detat to dethrone Kufuor from the seat as the Presidential candidate of the Npp for election 2000.They fought Kufuor from all angles and were virtually succeeding. Most people had abandoned Kufuor.Once again it took the solid support and intervention of Alan to stop the evil act of the G8 group.
Again get it straight that former President Kufuor throughout his political life has never endorsed Alan for any position be it publicly or privately. In the 2007 presidential primaries of the Npp, to set the records straight, former President Kufuor never supported Alan.Alan contested the election on his own merit and through his strategic and organizational skills, made the impact that he did. When the elections was due for a run-off,it was he former President Kufuor that put in a word that he Alan must allow Nana to go.
I believe at this stage if the writer did some deductive reasoning,he might have realized that if we were to do debit and credit between former President Kufuor and Alan Kyerematen, the former President would need the assistance of the world bank to pay off the debt owed Alan.
4.In point four, the argument is that Alan abused incumbency because he used helicopter in those days to do his campaign. When issues like this comes out,it only reminds me of the bitterness in 2007 expressed by Mr.Hackman Owusu Agyemang in Wa that he was having a meeting with delegates only for them to hear that Alan had come to Wa with a helicopter and so left him to meet Alan.I hope you were not told of this story by Mr.Hackman Owusu Agyemang who is now the chairman of the Council of Elders under whose watch the Npp has turned into a brass band.I will pardon you Iddi Muhayu-Deen for clearly you were not in the known as to the internal wranglings in 2007 and that you were told this story by elders who are so much dishonest.Let me say that the Air Force helicopters were available to all candidates provided you were ready to pay the rent for usage. As they say on the streets, there are people with money who are not “guys”.Those that complained about Alan using the helicopter knew perfectly well that they had the opportunity to use the helicopter provided they were ready to pay for its usage.Alan decided to take advantage of it as someone who is a “guy” and that became an issue. So do not go and sit or stand anywhere and say that Alan was given a helicopter by former President Kufuor to aid his campaign in 2007.He paid for its usage and got it and any of the candidates then could have done so except they were not “guys”.
And did I hear you say the election of 2007 was cooked for Alan but he lost it? I have already told you and your likes that Kufuor never and has never supported Alan’s political ambition and so could not have helped Alan in anyway. The idea that Kufuor supported Alan was conveniently introduced into the campaign by his adversaries just to cult some animosity for him.Indeed by being associated with Kufuor,Alan suffered a great deal then and continues to suffer it till date as I have demonstrated thus far.
Also the impression you sought to create that Alan never campaigned for the Npp in 2008 am sure will not go down well with Nana Akuffo Addo.Apart from campaigning for Nana Addo vigorously in 2008 ,in the second of the 2008 elections,Nana Addo himself appointed Alan as the campaign coordinator for the Ashanti region because of the commitment he had shown and the high levels of competence when it came to campaigning.Like I said your likes are victims of propaganda and ordinarily would not have responded to your article except for purposes of education to others whose minds may also have been poisoned.
5.Your point five is the usual propaganda of Alan resigned and BJ Da Rocha bla bla bla.I was thinking if you were poisoned then, now that you have become a lawyer, you could read in between the lines and disabuse your mind of the usual propaganda put forward by detractors of Alan but unfortunately as Asiedu Nketia will say “sukuu ɛmpepa gyimiii” so am waking up to the reality of that statement by the veteran politician. You would agree with me as someone who I assume knows the Npp constitution that before one could contest as a Presidential candidate of the Npp,that person must be five years in the party and in good standing.I believe you will also agree with me that when you resign from a party and rejoins, you join as a new member. If per your logic Alan resigned in 2008 and even rejoined in the same 2008,he would have only being eligible to contest any Npp Presidential primaries after 2013.If you do not know,Alan contested the Presidential primaries of 2010 and am sure your mathematics would have indicated to you that from 2008 to 2010 is not up to five years.Clearly you are a victim of propaganda and don’t come and tell me there was any special dispensation or waiver by the General Secretary of the party then.
6.I am happy you brought up the BJ Da Rocha angle.Indeed BJ Da Rocha is not alive and so his memory would be respected except to say from what I have recounted,it is absolutely a figment of anyone’s imagination to think that someone who was a founding member of the Npp and had put his resources at the disposal of the party including helping to purchase the first Headquaters of the party would not be committed to the course of the Npp but like I said BJ Da Rocha is not with us now and so his would be treated when we both meet at the “asaman do”.Take it that this point addresses your point 6 and 7.
8.Am sure if you had taking your time to ask former President Kufuor and Nana Addo, they would have advised you not to write the point 8.For the records, more than 70% of Kufuors initiatives that endeared him to the Ghanaian were all brought on board by Alan and so who could have better defended these initiatives or policies than Alan? And if you were not in a position to know the happenings in the early 2000s,was thinking 2022 is not too far a year to escape you that when your candidate Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia had mismanaged the economy and had run to the IMF,he decided to off his phone for like a month and had to take Alan to move from one station to the other to explain to Ghanaians why there was the need for Ghanaians to accept the IMF idea.Remember the minister of finance then Ken Ofori Atta had told the country that Ghana was a proud nation and that we were never going to go the IMF.It took Alan to calm Ghanaians after which your candidate Bawumia coward as he is,led the Ghanaian team to negotiate the most useless IMF deal in the history of Ghana.
BETRAYAL AND PERSONAL ATTACKS ON PRESIDENT KUFUOR.
9.Your point 9 only seeks to draw a wedge between President Kufuor and Alan and your in mind this will cause some sympathy votes for your candidate who is struggling. If you care to know,President Kufuor never discovered Alan and am sure from what I have so far told you,it is abundantly clear that Alan was Alan before Former President Kufuor became prominent on the stage. In fact the world knew Alan before former President Kufuor became President of Ghana in 2001.For your education, Alan was named as one of the hundred most influential personalities as far back as 1994.Kufuor was alive but the world did not recognize him like-wise Alhaji Bawumia and Nana Addo.He was named alongside Condoleezza Rice,Bill Gates,Jeffrey Sachs,John Kennedy etc.
Once again in 1994 when Nelson Mandela had been made the President of South Africa and was looking for seven serious minds to build Enterprise South Africa, the only name from Ghana amongst the seven was Alan.Remember Alan is the reason we have some Ghanaian entrepreneurs today doing well on the continent and the global stage through his Empretec. The UN had recognized him before Mr.Kufuor became the President.
10.The most disingenuous paragraph is your paragraph 10.Once again I will pardon you because from your name and your background,I am not sure you have full grasp of the twi language and so is either someone might have translated it to you or is for mischief purposes. The interview under discussion though you failed to name was the one Alan had with Oyerepa fm.Alan spoke twi and like have said,am sure your understanding of the twi language is limited and so you are pardoned.Alan on that occasion only questioned the foundation for the judgment made by former President Kufuor.Just give us your reason for saying Alhaji Bawumia is better than me Alan and that one too is an insult? Well if Iddi and his likes want to know, even if it takes 100 years, the reason(s) for that judgment would be demanded by some of us.Alan would have been considered an unserious candidate if in a competition that he is taking part, one candidate would be chosen as being the best without questioning the reason(s) for that determination.I can say without any shred of doubt that when it comes to competence, honesty, credibility which are the only attributes of a good leader,Alhaji Bawumia comes nowhere near Alan. This attempt to want to let former president Kufuor run away from answering this fundamental question will be resisted.Let me also add that before Kufuor endorsed your candidate for the third time,Alan was doing close to 48% in the Ashanti region.Immediately he endorsed Alhaji Bawumia for the 3rd time,Alan’s approval rating jumped from 48% to 57% in the Ashanti and other Akan areas. We of the movement for change and Alan’s camp are therefore very grateful to Mr.Kufuor for the endorsement as it is making our campaign very easy.
Alan has never said anywhere that he has a problem with Kufuor endorsing Alhaji Bawumia. He can choose to endorse him every 2 minutes however we will also ask for the reason(s) anytime he makes the endorsement and the least some of you could do to help Mr.Kufuor will be to find the reason(s) for him.
THE RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY.
12.I wished you had not attempted to rope in the issue of religion in your write-up as anytime it is discussed, your candidate does not survive it.Your candidate is on record to have said he was chosen because he is a Muslim and that every Muslim must vote for him.His assigns and agents including Aziz Futa,Sheik Nuamah etc have all openly said Muslims must vote for him because he is one of them.If Alan was also going to tell Christians to vote for him because he is one of them, you think your candidate will survive? Alan will behave responsibly and win this election based on merit.
ALAN TELLS NPP HE IS BIG FOR MP JOB.
15.Well another fallacy that can only come from a poisoned mind. For your information if Alan wanted to be an MP,he would have been long ago but is not everyone who is interested in becoming and neither has Alan ever said he was bigger than being an MP.I believe you are not suggesting for a moment that your candidate having not contested any MP position on the ticket of the Npp feels too big for that position.
ALAN IN BED WITH JOHN MAHAMA.
- When you see political opponents associating a candidate with another candidate, then the only conclusion is that the party doing so is feeling the heat from the candidate it is accusing.I can understand the frustrations the Npp is going through currently knowing they have lost the Ashanti region to Alan and so let’s try a last minute propaganda of associating Alan to John Mahama and get the people in the region to be angry with Alan and then return to the Npp.Unfortunately for you and the Npp,Alan’s votes are intact.Like I said I will pardon you because clearly you have not been involved in campaign activities of the Npp in the past in the Ashanti region and neither do you have a clue as to the levels of penetration Alan has in the region by way of family, business dealings etc.Alan is contesting and Alan will win this election to form a government of National Unity.
I agree with you that Alan as part of his motive is to let Dr.Bawumia lose. How did you pass your exams because you seem to have a warped logic. For Alan to become President,Alhaji Bawumia must lose so why should that not be his motive. For Alan to be President, the rest of the eleven candidates must lose so you are not wrong when you say Alan wishes Dr.Bawumia loses in the upcoming elections.
- Your point 17 makes me agree with Bukom Banku when he said “Education is Key but Mahama Spoilt the Padlock” and rather say education is key but Iddi Muhayu-Deen spoilt the padlock.First of all Alan has campaigned throughout the country and has had interviews in all parts of Ghana.Lets even assume his concerntration is only in the Npp strongholds, what is wrong with that? Is there any law that says you cannot concerntrate your campaign efforts in one’s so called strong hold? Have you forgotten that you said in your write-up that almost every Npp member had rejected Alan? So if everyone in the Npp have rejected Alan, then what is your fear with him campaigning in your so called strongholds which has now become micro-finance holds. You will have to come to terms with the fact that the Npp which is a declining party is not attractive anymore and is on its way into opposition. The lavish lifestyle you adopted as a youngman that you fear to go back to your humble beginnings is what is hunting you.Unfortunately I cannot help.
18.Your attempt to think that Alan is obsessed with a ministerial appointment concludes what I call a young man whose dream is to be a minister and so thinks everyone is interested in it.You can go and buy airtime on all radio station in Ashanti and tell them that Alan is only doing what he is doing because of John Mahama still Ashanti will vote for Alan to become the President.Mind you am an Ashanti and votes based on competence.Alan is miles apart when it comes to competence than you candidate and it is the only reason that myself and my family all over in the region will vote for Alan.
Iddi Muhayu-Deen,tell your paymasters that I am available anytime to expose them and hope you have been educated about the man Alan.He is a gem but before I open off,do well to remind your candidate Alhaji Bawumia that the cedi to the dollar is still 17 and inflation is at 22%.Tell him that more than one million people in the Ashanti region have been added to the poverty threshold courtesy his bogus policies and these are the reasons Alan is winning big.
