The Pitch Hub, in partnership with bp, a leading integrated energy company, have celebrated the graduation of 26 promising young entrepreneurs from the bp Innovation Factory program.
This milestone marked the culmination of a three-month intensive bootcamp designed to equip participants with essential tools for sustainable business growth.
Held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on November 1, 2024, the closing ceremony featured a product exhibition and a panel discussion addressing critical topics such as Scaling Local Innovations, Access to Finance for Entrepreneurs, Supporting Young African Innovators, and Cross-Sector Collaborations for Growth. These discussions underscored the urgent need for resources and mentorship to empower young entrepreneurs across Africa.
Emily Watt, VP Trading and Shipping, RPTE&A at bp, described the moment as a “testament to the power of collaboration and investment in young entrepreneurs.” She stated, “At bp, we aim to foster resilience and growth by empowering young leaders who can create lasting impact in their communities.”
The Pitch Hub’s founder, Aurelia Attipoe, emphasized the program’s tailored approach: “We identified the specific needs of each business and developed a curriculum focused on addressing those challenges. We also paid a lot of attention to soft skills such as pitching, market analysis, and leadership.”
A highlight of the event was an exhibition where participants showcased their innovative products. Rhoda Andoh, founder of Move Hub Limited and a beneficiary of the initiative, expressed her gratitude, noting that the program had given her the confidence and skills to expand her business. She now aims to grow her gas cylinder delivery service to reach 80,000 homes across Ghana.
Looking ahead, The Pitch Hub is committed to supporting these entrepreneurs’ growth. Planned initiatives include partnerships with major retailers and the Ghana Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (GVCA), creating opportunities for investor pitches and product promotions.
The Pitch Hub is an organization dedicated to equipping young entrepreneurs in Africa with the skills needed to build and sustain competitive businesses. Since 2019, over 500 young entrepreneurs have received support from the organization.
