The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated Donald J. Trump on his recent victory in the U.S. presidential election, marking his historic ‘comeback’ to the White House after his defeat by Joe Biden in the 2020 general election.
In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, on Wednesday November 6, the NDC described Trump’s win as a positive omen for the NDC as Ghana approaches its own presidential elections on December 7, 2024.
The party linked the U.S. election and Ghana’s upcoming polls, noting that just as American voters chose experienced leadership, Ghanaians will also reject the current government’s record of “insensitivity, corruption, and economic mismanagement.”
He reaffirmed the NDC’s commitment to restoring “stability, integrity, and renewed hope” to the country, positioning the party as the viable alternative for voters seeking change in Ghana’s political landscape.

PRESS STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
6th November, 2024.
NDC CONGRATULATES DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT-ELECT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) extends heartfelt congratulations to President-elect of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump on his resounding victory in yesterday’s election.
This decisive victory marks the return of the former President of the United States to the White House after just four years of exiting office.
The development is a good omen for us in the NDC, and a sign of great things to come given the stark parallels it presents as Ghanaians head to the polls to elect a new President on December 7th.
Just as Americans have chosen to reset their future with experienced leadership, we believe that Ghanaians will reject the current government’s eight years of insensitivity, corruption, and economic mismanagement. The NDC stands ready to bring stability, integrity, and renewed hope to Ghana.

FIFI FIAVI KWETEY
