Incumbent Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North constituency, Theresa Awuni, has secured her seat for the second consecutive term, defeating her opponent, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). This victory solidifies Awuni’s position as a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics.
Awuni, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), garnered 28,363 votes, significantly surpassing her opponent’s 20,627 votes. Abdul Hamidu Ibrahim Futa trailed behind with 470 votes .
Theresa Awuni’s win is a testament to her dedication to the constituency, which has historically been an NPP stronghold. Her initial victory in 2020 marked a significant shift, with Awuni securing 51.07% of the votes against Fuseini Issah’s 47.52%
