In the presidential race, NDC’s John Dramani Mahama triumphed with 10,603 votes, while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, received 2,103 votes.
The Guan constituency, referred to as a ‘virgin’ constituency, elected its first-ever Member of Parliament since its creation.
It was formed following the Constitutional Instrument (CI) that led to the establishment of the Guan District on November 6, 2020.
The constituency comprises four traditional areas: Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi, and Likpe, collectively known as SALL.
The region, which has 12 constituencies, is witnessing peaceful voting across the various polling stations.
