A chaotic scene erupted at the Ashaiman Roman Catholic Church, where electoral collation is underway, after a disagreement over a ballot box seal led to a physical altercation.
A party agent discovered a sealed envelope containing ballot verification documents (BVDs) in the ballot box.
Before breaking the seal, the agent attempted to ensure all party agents were present. However, when the other agents, according to GHOne TV’s sources failed to appear, the agent proceeded to break the seal to submit the documents.
This action drew the attention of others, who assaulted the agent for breaking the seal.
Police intervened to rescue the agent, but the crowd became unruly, prompting the police to fire a warning shot to disperse the crowd and restore order.
