President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has underscored the significance of peaceful elections in Ghana’s democratic journey. Speaking to journalists after casting his vote in Kyebi, his hometown, the President expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the electoral process across the country.
“The process was excellent, very smooth, very simple, and very efficient,” he said, commending the Electoral Commission for the seamless arrangements.
President Akufo-Addo noted that reports received from various polling stations indicate that the elections are progressing without disruptions. He hailed Ghanaians for demonstrating their commitment to upholding democratic principles through peaceful participation.
“This election is going very well and is being conducted peacefully. Ghanaians are showing their commitment to democratic outcomes, and we all have to be thankful to God for that,” he remarked.
He also urged citizens who have not yet cast their ballots to take advantage of the remaining hours to exercise their franchise. “I want to tell everybody, those of you yet to vote, please go out and vote; each vote counts, and your voice matters,” the President emphasized.
