Zenator Rawlings, the incumbent and National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Korle Klottey constituency, has expressed concerns over reports of vote buying at some polling stations by her opponent.
Speaking to the media, madam Zanetor condemned the practice, stressing that her team is fully committed to ensuring a free and fair election.
According to her, measures are being put in place to prevent vote-buying and bullying.
She stated that the team document the names of Electoral Commission representatives at various polling stations and report any irregularities to the party’s election directorate.
Madam Zanetor emphasized the importance of the election, highlighting its significance for the future of the constituency and the country as a whole.
She said, “I don’t think this is a good trend, but hopefully we will just continue to be vigilant and make sure that the process is free and fair and devoid of both buying and bullying.
Okay, so on that premise, what measures are you putting in place to check that?
You can only do what we say or what we see, so we have our polling agents who are out there and citizens who are going to vote are going to be harassed based or being offered money. So what we are doing is we’re taking notes of the Electoral Commission representatives across various polling stations because we intend to mention all these to the party election directorate, this is a very crucial election.”
