Ghana’s biggest football league game: the Super Clash saw Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts Of Oak meet for the 115th time in a thrilling game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a game that eventually saw the porcupine warriors score a much-desired goal in stoppage time.
Kotoko’s attacker, Albert Amoah, who had missed glorious chances for the entirety of the game, pounced on an Osei Asibey mistake to score the game’s only goal in the 92nd minute; an early Christmas present to the thousands of Kotoko supporters whose team was playing at the Baba Yara stadium for the first time this season.
Hearts defender Kelvin Osei Asibey, who was definitely a candidate for Man of the Match after 90 minutes, saw all his hard work go down the drain when he tried an acrobatic clearance that miscued and fell graciously to Albert Amoah who beat goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and slot the ball into an empty net.
The win takes Kotoko above Hearts into the 5th position with 21 points while Hearts stay 7th with 19 points.
Meanwhile, Kpando Heart of Lions has moved top of the league table after beating champions Samartex.
