Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign has said that the call upon supporters and sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to descend on constituency collation centers across the country is irresponsible.
In an address to the media as part of a regular media briefing strategy, Mr. Aboagye said the directive from his opponents was a testament to the fact that the NDC were unconfident about their election fortunes.
“They know they’ve lost, they know they are nowhere near victory in this elections and that is why they would irresponsibly call on their supporters to move towards the collation centres to disrupt things.
“NDC are clearly losing this election and they know it. As we speak, the elections have already been counted at the polling stations. Every political party has copies of the pink sheet. They know it they know very well they are losing this election and that is why they will call for havoc,” the Bawumia Campaign spokesperson said.
He said the NPP were convinced of being successful a third successive time in what they have tagged as ‘breaking the eight’.
“We are winning this election once again. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is winning this election and that is why we are saying, ‘Let’s protect it.’ If we are winning, why would we let the electoral processes to be disrupted? Mr. Aboagye, said.
The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi had called upon NDC supporters to go to constituency collation centres across the country to monitor proceedings there.
He said it was important that supporters remained vigilant and desist from celebrating prematurely.
