The Special Voting exercise in the Eastern Region, rescheduled from December 2 to December 5 due to a security breach, is currently underway. Over 12,361 voters are expected to participate in today’s exercise across the region.
In the New Juaben South constituency, voting is taking place at the Callaway Regional Police Headquarters. The location hosts two polling stations, A and B, with a combined voter population of 1,017. Polling Station A has 509 registered voters, while Polling Station B has 508.
The first vote was cast at exactly 7:02 a.m. By 7:39 a.m., 46 voters had cast their ballots at Polling Station A, and 42 at Polling Station B.
The process has been peaceful and efficient, with no reports of disturbances. Election officials have implemented strict measures to prevent unauthorized activities, including banning voters from carrying bags into the voting booths and prohibiting the use of cameras to take pictures.
Several voters have shared their experiences, expressing satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exercise.
