The High Court in Accra has ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to collate the 62 outstanding polling station results of Ablekuma North Constituency and declare the winner on or before January 6, 2925.
The Court presided over by Justice Forson Baah Agyapong said, that evidence before the court shows that the election processes have not been completed in that constituency.
It emerged in Court that 219 out of the 262 Polling Stations were collated with 62 outstanding prior to the declaration which declared Awurabena Aubynn, NDC Parliamentary Candidate as the winner.
Nana Akua Afriyie, the NPP Candidate filed a Mandamus Application for the Court to compel the EC to complete its lawful function.
Justice Forson Baah Agyapong, in his ruling, said the Applicant’s request succeeds and ordered the EC to collate the 62 outstanding polling stations and add to the earlier collated and declared results on or before January 6, 2025.
The Court has also ordered the Inspector General of Police to provide adequate security at all collation centers to ensure that the EC performs its public function.
