President John Mahama has outlined his vision for Ghana’s future, pledging to take swift and decisive actions in tackling the country’s most pressing issues.
He promised to lead transparently, emphasizing his commitment to truth and clear communication throughout his tenure.
Mahama acknowledged the nation’s difficult circumstances but assured Ghanaians that his leadership would be characterized by swift decision-making and a focus on restoring stability. He highlighted four key areas for his administration’s focus.
The president committed to addressing Ghana’s economic challenges, prioritizing economic restoration and the stabilization of the macroeconomic environment.
He also stressed the importance of improving the business and investment climate, with the goal of making Ghana once again “open for business.”
Mahama pledged to push for governance and constitutional reforms, ensuring a more efficient and accountable government. Lastly, he made a strong commitment to tackling corruption, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in all aspects of governance.
“I intend to speak to you plainly and clearly today, and every time I address you subsequently. I will always tell you the truth. The circumstances we find ourselves in are indeed challenging, but even so, I will be decisive and swift in my actions.”
“We will focus our initial efforts in four critical areas. The first is economic restoration and stabilization of the macroeconomic environment. The second is the improvement of the business and investment environment to ensure that Ghana is once again open for business. The third is governance and constitutional reforms, and the final, but by no means least, is accountability and the fight against corruption.”
