Kofi Adams, the minister designate for Sports and Recreation, has pledged to elevate all sports disciplines to the same level of prominence and focus as football in Ghana.
The Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency in the Oti Region’s name was part of the third batch of ministerial nominees submitted by the President of Ghana to Parliament for vetting and approval through the Speaker yesterday.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on GHOne TV after his nomination, Kofi Adams highlighted the importance of diversifying the country’s sports landscape to ensure equal opportunities for athletes across various fields.
“Other sports will get the same focus and attention as football,” he affirmed in an interview by GHOne TV.
As a passionate advocate for sports development, Adams’ remarks come at a crucial time when many stakeholders in athletics, basketball, boxing, and other sports have called for enhanced support and investment beyond the football sector.
