The Peasants Farmers Association of Ghana ( PFAG) is appealing to President John Dramani Mahama to consider nominating someone from an agricultural background as minister for agriculture.
In their congratulatory message to the president they stated that farmers want to work with a minister who have knowledge in agriculture , effective and approachable.
They also throw emphasis on the fact that since president Mahama is a farmer himself he understands the poor performances of the agriculture sector and will do the needful for a better agriculture sector in the country.
Thy added that they are eager to work with his ( president Mahama) administration to ensure the thrive of the agricultural sector.
“We humbly request that you nominate a minister for the agricultural sector who possesses a strong agricultural background, has the experience, is affable, youthful, and has the ability to connect with stakeholders across the value chain. Farmers are looking forward to working with a minister who is effective, approachable, and understands their concerns and challenges”, they appealed.
