Sammi Awuku, the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for appointing young people to key positions in his second administration.
Speaking on Adom FM, Awuku expressed confidence in the abilities of several of the young appointees, highlighting their potential to contribute effectively to the government.
Awuku praised Opare Addo’s impressive track record, having served as youth organizer, District Chief Executive, and now Minister.
He also applauded the appointment of Sammy Gyamfi to oversee the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), rejecting criticism that Gyamfi is too young for the position.
He further emphasized his faith in the capabilities of his successor, Alhaji Mohammed, calling him a “solid man” and reiterating the value of appointing committed individuals to leadership roles.
He said, “Let me also commend the president on some of the appointments he has made because he has recruited some young politicians into government. Look at George Opare Addo, he is a solid guy. He’s been the youth organiser, DC, and now the Minister for Youth and Sports.”
“Sammy Gyamfi too has been appointed to oversee the PMMC. A solid guy, and I reject anyone who says he is too small for the position. Who do you expect should be appointed after toiling for his party? Even my successor, Alhaji Mohammed, is a solid man,” he stated.
