The newly sworn-in Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine has pledged to carefully review ongoing trials involving members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) before deciding whether to continue any prosecutions.
Speaking to the media at the Flag Staff House in Accra after his ministerial swearing-in, the Attorney General emphasized the importance of a thoughtful, non-partisan approach to legal matters.
“With respect to ongoing trials involving former appointees of the NDC, I will study the dockets as to whether or not to continue the prosecutions.
“We will cross the bridge when we get there. I’m not going to make any rush decisions just because they are members of my party,” he reiterated.
The Attorney General’s statement reflects a clear commitment to due process, underscoring that decisions will be based on the facts of the cases rather than political affiliations.
