The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denied allegations that they contacted Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, to form an alliance in the upcoming 9th parliament.
A-Plus, the newly elected Independent Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, claimed in a Facebook post that both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had approached him with proposals.
He confirmed that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, representing the NPP, made an official approach, offering not to contest the Gomoa Central seat in the 2028 election.
A-Plus also mentioned that the NDC had scheduled a meeting with him for the following morning.
While A-Plus expressed a preference for aligning with the NDC, he made it clear that his final decision would depend on which party could best prioritize both his personal interests and those of the people of Gomoa Central.
However, a statement signed by the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Koduah denied the allegation saying, “The NPP has not met with A Plus, nor has it authorized anyone to convey any message to him on its behalf.”
