As part of celebrating the love of Christ this Yuletide, telecommunication giant MTN, surprised nursing mothers who gave birth on Christmas day in Kumasi.

It was all joy for the over 20 mothers at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), as MTN presented them hampers.

MTN embarked on similar donations in the Tafo and Suntreso Government Hospitals in the Ashanti region.

Speaking to Ultimate News, Head of Commercial Unit at MTN Ghana, Northern Zone, Peter Bimpeh said the donation was a nationwide activity, as it was replicated in the Western, Northern and Greater Accra regions.

“We are here today to celebrate our new born babies. It’s an annual programme and as we always say Christmas is a time of giving, we are here to share in the joy of these mothers”.

Nurse Manager of the Obstetrics and Gynaecologist Unit of KATH, Cynthia Bruce Smith thanked MTN Ghana for the kind gesture.

The 160 hampers that were presented to the mothers contained mostly baby products.
In all 16 babies were born at the Unit as at midday Christmas Day.
