The Inspector General of Police David Asante-Apeatu has dismissed claims that members of the New Patriotic Party’s Invisible Forces have taken over security at the Flagstaff House.

Reports on various social media platforms and a section of the media indicated that members of the NPP’s internal security body together with other national security agencies are in charge of the country’s Presidential Palace.

But addressing the issue in an interview with Starr FM’s Papissdaf Abdallah, the IGP categorically dismissed the claims describing them as untruths.

“It hasn’t been brought to my attention…No [it’s not true],” Mr. Asante-Apeatu said Tuesday.

Mr. Asante-Apeatu was appointed acting IGP by President Akufo-Addo last week following the retirement of former IGP John Kudalor.
