Gender advocacy group, Women in Law and Development in Africa (WILDAF), has commended the president-elect, Nana Akufo Addo for appointing a female as his Chief of Staff.

The Former lawmaker and minister of state under the Kufuor regime, Frema Opare, was named on Wednesday, January 4 by Mr. Akufo Addo to be the head of his administrative staff effective January 7. Her appointment makes her the first female Chief of Staff under the fourth Republic.

Programs Manager at WILDAF Frank Bodza told Starr News the appointment is good for the country.

“First time having a female Chief of staff is a good thing, having tested men and women and now we know that both of them have the competencies, qualification, meticulous and good to occupy any position. It is good this trend is continuing and we believe there will be more things to come”.
