The Technical Director of the Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF), Shaban Mohamed, has been appointed the President of the Para-cycling commission in Africa.

Mohammed’s appointment came at the just ended Africa Cycling Confederation (CAC) Congress in Egypt.

The former cyclist, has been the foundation of Ghana Cycling since the death of founder Mike Adjavon.

He was very instrumental in shaping cyclists including Alem Mumuni, Ernest Ayisi who are now powerhouses in the sport.

It would be recalled that Mohammed organised the first ever Para-Cycling championship in Ghana in 2011 and saw Alem gathering points for the London Olympics in 2012.

Mohamed has been in the helm of affairs at the Cycling Federation since 2010 with tremendous leap in achievements.
