President Akufo-Addo is expected to begin a three-day working visit to the Ashanti region today, Friday, March 31.
This is the second major visit of the president to the region since he was elected, having gone there in December following his victory in the 2016 polls.
The president’s visit comes in the wake of an attack on the Ashanti regional security coordinator by members of the Delta Force, a vigilante group associated with the ruling NPP.
The president will among other activities address a mammoth rally of party supporters on Sunday.
The Ashanti region is the traditional stronghold of the New Patriotic Party.
