Ghana is being represented by Kwesi Nyantekyi as all is set for Africa to decide who will be president of The Confederation of African Football (CAF) as the Elections get underway in Addis Ababa Ethiopia today.

Nyantekyi is among few members who had never declared their choice on the continent over who takes the presidency position.

Cameroon’s Issa Hayatou who has been president for nearly three decades and has often been re-elected unopposed seems set to go against his biggest challenge yet in Madagascar FA head Ahmad Ahmad

Hayatou is seeking an eighth term having led since 1998 and Ghanaians expect a change this time round.

Reports suggest that the leadership of both Fifa and Caf are split in both directions but FIFA president Infantino is said to favour Ahmad.

Ahmad a former a football player and coach who also is a politician back in Madagascar has pledged to bring about administrative reform, financial transparency to CAF and is seen by many as the man to wrestle power from Hayatou and bring about change in African football

CAF was founded in 1957 in Khartoum by the Egyptian, Ethiopian and Sudanese football associations which has since then expanded to 55 FIFA Member Associations.
