Over Hundred home base Ghanaian athletes will be battling  qualification for this year’s IAAF World Championship to be held in London.

These Athletes will all assemble at the Baba Yara Sports stadium from the 10 regions culled from security services, Ghana education service and some tertiary institutions.

The competition is the third leg of the GAA National athletics circuit championship out of five outings to be embarked by the athletics outfit for home base potentials.

GAA will also use the event to hunt for athletes into the national athletics team as well as get a team for the Youth Championship in Kenya.

Meanwhile, reigning circuit 100m champion Shadrack Opoku Agyemang is hoping to use the competition to reduce his personal best and meet the qualification standard for the world Championship.

“This is the opportunity for locally based athletes to make it to the various international competitions and I’m ready to make use of the opportunity. Am hoping to use to reduce my personal best and make the qualification standard for the world championship.” He told Starr FM Sports
