The president of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Ben Nunoo Mensah is confident his outfit is committed to working towards having many quality athletes for the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia next year.

According to Nunoo Mensah most of the athletes in the country are not ready for the Games without any preparations as he revealed during Team Ghana’s launch of the competition on Tuesday at the media center of the Accra Sports Stadium.

“We only have 365 days and I can say on authority that most of our disciplines are not ready and it is a major worry. But we need to work harder than we have done in the past. It is better to send 20 to win two medals than to send 200 sportsmen to win two medals”, Nunoo Mensah told Starr Sports.

The competition is said to start from April 4-15 next year in Gold Coast, Australia.
