Tension is mounting at Ardayman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra region after a development Chief Nii Tetteh Sarbah, was shot dead by unknown assailants on Thursday June 8.

Details of the murder is not yet known but information gathered indicate that the chief was murdered over a chieftaincy dispute.

Samuel Akwetey Otoo, a brother of the late Chief told Class FM Monday that Sarbah was performing some purification rites before the lifting of the ban on noisemaking at the Ardayman Stool House when some youth entered the compound at about 1am and starting shooting sporadically.

According to him, Sarbah was chased into a room assaulted, stones and butchered before he was shot in the stomach and around the eye.

Several others who sustained injuries in the process were rushed to the 37 Military Hospital and are currently receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, the Police have begun investigations into the incident.
