The Association of Customs House Agents Ghana has instituted measures to restore public confidence in the activities of clearing agents and freight forwarders in the country.

Questions have been raised recently by various stakeholders in the clearance chain on the integrity of some clearing agents and freight forwarders in the country.

Bemoaning the development, the interim president of the association, Yaw Kyei said, it is imperative for the country to have an honest interface between the trading public and those who front for them at the ports.

“We have come together and tackle some of these problems, through integrity, through training, through effective communication, through enhancement of our image and so many other things.

“So that when you complete school and you call yourself a clearing agent, at least the integrity and image would dictate who you are”.

He stressed that the association’s main objective will be to inject a high level of sanity, confidence and integrity in the operations of freight forwarders in the country.
