The minister of Interior, Ambrose Dery, has announced that Monday June 26, 2017, should be observed as a statutory public holiday.
The day which marks the Eid ul-Fitr, celebrated by Muslims worldwide to make the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting.
A statement from the ministry said the public holiday must be observed throughout the country.
