The deplorable state of facilities at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital is seriously affecting the treatment of inpatients. The facility which has been in existence for over a decade has not seen any major renovation.
Parts of the roof of some of the units are being ripped off, the toilet facilities at the Psychiatric hospital are in bad state, making life unbearable for the inpatients.
According to officials at the facility, several complains to authorities have fallen on deaf ears over the years. They say most of the support they get are from philanthropists and benevolent organizations. Inpatients complain of the food they are served, beds and other essentials needed.
