Former deputy Communication Minister, Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, says president Akufo-Addo is undermining his government by overlooking attacks on it  by the Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong.

Speaking on State of Affairs on Ghone television, Mr Kwakye-Ofosu said “Kennedy Agyapong has misconducted himself on multiple occasions. There was a time when he called for Ga’s and Ewe’s to be attacked, regrettably the party celebrated him, and did not take the sort of steps they needed to take to send a clear signal that they will not tolerate this kind of behavior.

“And it has grown into a much bigger problem, so if President Akufo-Addo will not deal with, well it’s his problem but he is seriously undermining his government”.

In his view, the government must quickly take action against the Assin Central MP.

President Akufo-Addo addressing the media on Tuesday July 18, 2017 revealed attacks against his government by maverick politician do not bother him.

According to him, having been in the same political party with the maverick politician, he is aware of his nature and has gotten used to it.

“Regarding Kennedy Agyapong’s comments, I am not surprised at where he is going. I have been in the same party with Ken for many years and so I understand him and we know ourselves very well,” he added.

Mr. Agyapong has among other things accused the NPP government of sidelining him and other key people who sponsored the party during the 2016 electioneering.

In his latest tirade, the politician-cum-businessman has accused the President of appointing fewer people from the Central region in his administration.
