Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has signed a two-year contract with Turkish side Kayserispor.

The former Sunderland forward is joining the Turkish top flight side from Chinese team Shanghai SIGP, who had loaned him to Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates last season.

The 31-year-old sealed the deal on Wednesday, the club confirmed on its official website. Gyan has been absent from Europe since 2012 when he left the English Premier League at Sunderland.

Kayserispor have finished just one place above the relegation zone in the Turkish top flight for the last two seasons.
