Ghana’s deputy minister, Pius Enam Hadzide says his outfit could make a late bid to host the 2018 Africa Nation’s Cup Championship after CAF decided to strip Kenya off the hosting rights.
The interest to bid for the CHAN tournament comes after days of Ghana hosting the WAFU Nations Cup in Cape Coast and fortunately won.
Kenya’s lost was due to slow preparations for the January 12-February 4 tournament as the reason as well as political stability.
With the Black Stars B failing to qualify for the tournament- many have suggested that Government should bid for the championship to enable Ghana participate in the competition and Pius Enam Hadzide agrees to the call..
“I have heard some strong augments being advanced and with Ghana being tipped to host the tournament after Kenya’s calamity over the weekend. But there are cost implications with positive and negative benefits I believe when we meet the Minister we will take it from there”, he told the Starr Sports.
Ghana is already hosting CAF Africa Women Championship in 2018.
