The Ghana Police Service has denied any form of terrorist attack at the Accra Mall.
News went viral on social media Sunday that French speaking terrorists have besieged the Accra Mall after Ghana won a case against Cote d’Ivoire in the maritime boundary dispute at the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea (ITLOS).
However, the security agency has rubbished the report, having conducted a search at the Mall.
“The police on receiving the information conducted security checks on the mall and found the information to be false,” ACP David S. Eklu, the Director-General in charge of Public Affairs said in a statement.
“The police strongly caution those behind this false information to desist since it has serious security implications for the whole country,” the statement added.
The police has since launched investigations to “identify those behind this false information for necessary action to be taken.”
